Nobel Banquet 1985

The evening gown is made of yellow faille with prominent gold embossed appliqués in the shape of flowers on the skirt and arms. A full-skirted gown that The Queen wore later for an official portrait photograph. This official photograph now hangs at Swedish embassies around the world.

Design: Jørgen Bender, Köpenhamn

This year The Queen is wearing the Leuchtenberg Sapphire parure. The set consists of a diamond tiara with sapphires, pendant earrings with diamond-framed sapphires (originally hairpins), a diamond necklace with sapphires and nine pendant clusters as well as a diamond brooch with large sapphires.
