Maria Eleonora's Crown

Maria Eleonora's Crown was used as a royal crown up until 1818, when King Karl XIV Johan decided to revert to using King Erik XIV's Crown.

Queen Maria Eleonora did a great deal for the fine arts. Within the dramatic arts, she was one of the most versatile 17th century queens. Together with the French ballet master Antoine de Beaulieu, she introduced the court ballet to Stockholm.

The regalia, the baptismal font and the coronation cloak can be seen in the Treasury at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
