Easter at Gripsholm

Easter is a festival for children at Gripsholm Castle. Take your children and grandchildren on a trip, and explore King Gustav Vasa's castle together.

At Gripsholm Castle, you can wander through four centuries of history. Here, there are rooms dating from the times of the Vasa kings, King Gustav III's theatre, canons, winding passageways, an armoury, King Erik XIV's prison and Leo the lion, who looks unlike any other lion in the world.

Self-guided tours of Gripsholm Castle

You can explore the castle by yourself at your own pace. Guides can be purchased at the ticket counter. During Easter weekend, family tours will also be given in Swedish.

Easter activities and café

Children can take part in Easter pottering in the Kronköket kitchens at the castle's inner court yard. Here you can also have a Swedish "fika". Coffe, royal cakes, buns and sweets will be served.

The Royal Gift Shop

The castle's gift and souvenir shop will be open from 11:00 to 15:00. Here, you will find products with a connection with objects from the Royal Collections.

The palace park and Hjorthagen Nature Reserve

If you want to spend a full day here, the palace park and Hjorthagen Nature Reserve are ideal for picnics, playing and walking.
